Hello Everyone,
Here is a link to the June Newsletter.
Last month the overall sector performance was not as good as in April. The total number of sectors making gains went down significantly, as did the average sector returns. Only ten of the thirty-five sectors that we report on went up in May, compared to twenty-one in April.
There are just four sectors that made gains in both April and May, the two Money Market sectors, India/Indian Subcontinent, and UK Direct Property. Only the Money Market sectors went up in March as well.
However, the last couple of weeks have been more encouraging. The US markets are back on an upward trajectory, led by the large tech stocks, and the Japanese, Hong Kong, and Brazilian stock markets have all gone up by over 9% in the last fortnight.
So far all of the stock market indices that we track have made gains in June.
Our demonstration portfolios remain predominantly in cash or the money markets, but have both recently added funds from the Technology & Technology Innovations and North American sectors.
As always, I hope that you enjoy this month’s newsletter and I look forward to hearing any feedback.
