Hello Everyone,
Here is a link to the November Newsletter.
Since the last newsletter, there have been several major events for us to consider.
In the UK, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, has recently delivered her inaugural budget, and Labour’s first budget since 2010.
Across the Atlantic, Donald Trump has won the US presidential election and will be sworn in early next year. The result was much more emphatic than most commentators were expecting, and he also won the ‘popular vote’.
We’ve also seen the Bank of England announce another interest rate cut in the UK, and the Federal Reserve has reduced rates in the US.
Unfortunately, the overall number of sectors making one-month gains has been falling in recent months.
In July, 27 out of the 34 sectors that we track went up. In August, the number dropped to 24, and in September it was down to 22. Last month only 12 sectors made gains.
Only 7 sectors have gone up for four months in a row.
So far, November has been more encouraging. When I checked this morning, 20 sectors were showing month-to-date gains.
As always, I hope that you enjoy this month’s newsletter and I look forward to hearing any feedback.
