What is the Saltydog Vindex

The Saltydog Vindex is our own fund volatility ranking. 1 being the least volatile and 10 being the most volatile.

It is another indicator to help further identify the riskier funds. Whilst it is true that the most volatile funds will be in the higher risk Saltydog groups of Full steam ahead and the specialist, this is not always the case.

This is where our volatility index comes in.

It is calculated on a 12-week standard deviation algorithm with all funds ranked against each other regardless of group or sector.
