As the Merkozy duo and Papandreou struggle to resolve the almost unresolveable wrongs of the Eurozone finances I ask myself are these types the correct people to produce an acceptable solution? I don't think so! Winning their next election features too high on their wish list for my comfort. We seem to be unfortunate with today's selection of politicians. I am fast coming to the conclusion that they are either too clever for their own and our good. Or they fall into the camp whose eyebrows meet when they try to think.
So how to go forward is the question.? Just a thought. If it is true that the Germans stole so much money from the Greeks during the Second World War then at today's value, adding back interest it would have a value in excess of sixty billion Euros. Also if it is true that there has been no reparation from the Germans back to Greece to correct this theft, then you would think that now was as good a time as any to correct this obvious oversight. Especially as the gold bullion in the German vaults has conveniently appreciated by more than three times this amount in the last twelve months. Surely it is not rocket science to suggest some sort of quid pro quo.? The Germans should on their own correct the Greek finances and in return the Greeks ought to adopt some thought of work ethic that includes paying taxes and waiting to retire until after puberty.!!
