Stock market performance has been improving since November, and that continued through to the end of February.
In November, only 14 of the 32 sectors that we report on each week were showing gains. By February, that number had grown to 30.
Unfortunately, that has all changed this month. Since the beginning of the war in Iran, nearly all sectors have gone down.
When we looked earlier this week, both demonstration portfolios were also showing sharp one-week drops and, as a result, are down on this time last month. The Tugboat has lost 1.3% and the Ocean Liner has fallen by 1.9%. However, over 12 months they are still up 12.2% and 15.6% respectively.
We have reduced our exposure to the equity markets over the last couple of weeks, but only sold things that we were probably going to sell anyway.
We did not invest in anything new and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
