Dear Investor I’m Richard Webb, MD of Saltydog Investor. Thank you very much for joining us. I look forward to helping you make your investments work more effectively and profitably. This “Getting started” guide is just what it says on the tin. It’s to help you with the practical requirements of using the Saltydog system.

I’ll be covering two topics:

• First, I’ll explain everything you receive as a Saltydog member. This includes the handbooks, the weekly emails from me, the weekly updated Saltydog data, the demonstration portfolios, the monthly newsletter, and the Members’ Area of the website.
• Second, I’ll explain how to set yourself up to use the Saltydog system Here I’ll cover what type of broker or ‘fund supermarket’ it’s best to use and the costs you can expect to pay. Plus I’ll answer a number of frequently asked questions (FAQs).

When it comes to understanding and actually using the Saltydog system of trend investing, please do read our separate, in-depth guide “How to beat the market using trend investing”. That explains all about how we identify profitable trends in the market, and the principles behind our system.
